Thursday, September 18, 2008

Sponsoring organizations set up event site.

## Early campers welcome to come and set up camp. Wood, Water and Straw will be available.

## Some downtown specials may be available from merchants and restaurants.

Friday, September 19, 2008

Noon - Midnight Registration Open Camps set up - There are both Garrison and Campaign camp areas available for each army. Campaign camps may set up in fields adjacent to fairgrounds. Pickets will be posted to direct arriving reenactors to proper locations. NOTE: (Boy Scout Camporee also arriving and setting up on opposite side of fairgrounds)

6:00 PM till 10:00 PM -- Reenactor Buffet Supper (Free to all registered and in uniform or period dress) At the Headquarters Building (GVCS Sr. Stand)

7:00PM till 11:00PM Civil War Movies for Scouts and reenactors in 4-H Hall

## 8:00PM - Volunteer Provost Guards collect draftees and deliver for induction.

8:00 PM - Meeting for reenactors wishing to help with living history interpretive stations for Boy Scouts or for downtown scenarios - in the 4-H building. There will be several scenarios for units or individuals to choose if they wish to participate in scout program or downtown program, or bring your own demonstration or scenario. Note: Downtown scenarios limited to units signing up.

9:00PM - CURFEW IN EFFECT FOR ALL SCOUTS. Scouts restricted to Scout camp areas. Please direct scouts to return to their camps if they are in your campsites. Notify Provost if necessary.

11:00PM - All Quiet please. All Scouts IN OWN TROOP CAMPSITE. No Scouts will be allowed in Reenactor areas after 9:00PM. Those out past curfew subject to arrest by Provost and remand to Camporee staff.

Saturday, September 20, 2008

7:30-8:30 - Rations for reenactors issued at Headquarters Building (Sausage or Salt pork, Eggs, Potatoes & Onions) Only for pre-registered units.

9:00 AM - Officer's Call 9:00 AM -- Gates open. Camps open to the public.

9:00 AM to Noon Living History in camps and on Fairgrounds (Boy Scout groups and the public will be touring camps and stations learning about the Civil War) Volunteers from re-enacting community wishing to assist in interpretive stations are welcome Possible stations include President Lincoln, Civil War Medicine, Presentation on GAR, Display on 136th NY Infantry, Artillery, Shawmut RR, Practice Drill & Marching, Musket firing demonstrations, etc.

9:00 AM till Noon - Dr. Anabel presents "Civil War Medicine"

11:00 AM - Drill Practice, all units, all branches

12:30PM - All units assemble for safety inspections

1:00 till app. 2:00 -- Battle on the main battlefield.

## 2:30 PM - 4:00PM Ladies' Tea at Angelica Inn downtown (Transportation available)

3:00 - Scout Battle on Fairgrounds Field (reenactor volunteers to help direct scouts welcomed).

## 4:00PM - 4:30PM Downtown Skirmish (Small Scenario - Historic District) (Optional)

5:00 -- Camps close to the public.

5:00 - Possible Catholic Mass & Protestant Services - Location TBA

6:00 - Pot-Luck Supper with Scouts in 4-H Building (Reenactors welcome, please bring dish to pass)

## 7:30 - 10:00 PM Dance with "City Fiddle" at Grange Hall downtown (Transportation available)

11:00PM - All Quiet Please

September 21, 2008

8:00 AM -- Continental Breakfast for Reenactors at Headquarters Building

9:00 AM -- Gates and camps open.

10:00 AM -- 1860s Church Service, main grandstand (Chaplain of 9th TX presiding).

## Noon to 12:30PM - Parade -- downtown

1:00 PM - All units assemble for safety inspection

2:00- till app. 3:00 -- Battle on the main battlefield.

2:00 PM till -- Living history, public tours camps.

4:00 PM -- Event closes to the public.

Reenactors released with thanks and a safe trip home

Note: Downtown merchants still open and offering specials to reenactors
