Any of the attendees from past years can tell you we hosted a fun event, and that the Angelica Community is substantially period-correct and VERY friendly to reenactors! Many of the townspeople will be joining us in the Civil War era by being in period dress for the weekend. THE SITE: Again this year, most of the event will be
held on and adjacent to the Allegany County Fairgrounds in Angelica, NY, Exit
31 off Interstate 86 (NYS Rte 17) the Southern Tier Expressway. Some of the events (Dance, Tea, Parade, skirmish,
etc.) are scheduled to take place at other locations in the historic village,
and transportation will be available for participants coordinated by the local Angelica
supporters. REGISTRATION: In order to avoid the expenses of having supplies for no-shows, WE ARE ASKING FOR A $5.00 REGISTRATION DEPOSIT THIS YEAR. This will be returned to you on arrival, so your actual cost will still be free. Registration will be open noon to 10:00pm on Friday and 9:00am to noon on Saturday. If you are planning to arrive after 10:00PM on Friday, please call 716-498-2465 so someone will be available to greet you. Pickets will direct you to registration and camping. BOUNTIES & AMENITIES: We offer bounties for the first 3 artillery pieces registered and taking the field on each side, along with the first 50 Infantry to help offset gasoline and powder costs. Pre-registration is required for the bounty, and the postmark date will determine eligibility. Hay for horses, straw for bedding, firewood and other amenities will be provided. There will be a period dance with “City Fiddle” on Saturday night as well. Our famous Ladies’ Tea on Saturday afternoon will again be catered by Cari, and hosted at the historic Angelica Inn. FOOD & RATIONS: Friday 6:00pm until 9:00pm, a free supper will be available for all reenactors (please bring your own plates and utensils). Breakfast rations on Saturday of breakfast meat, eggs, potatoes and onions (you cook) will only be issued to pre-registered units. Units/individuals will be issued ration vouchers upon arrival at registration, and rations will be issued at the HQ building. Reenactors are also invited to bring a dish to a “Pot Luck” supper on Saturday evening, along with the sponsoring Boy Scouts, or you may enjoy your own cooking or sample some of the meal specials offered downtown by local merchants. A free “Continental” breakfast will again be offered on Sunday morning. LIVING HISTORY PROGRAMS & SCENARIOS: We welcome any interested reenactors who may wish to help with the School Education Day on Friday the 18th and the Boy Scout living history program on Saturday morning the 19th. Local schools are sending classes for the day on Friday, and the scouts will be learning about various aspects of the Civil War, and also holding their own battle on Saturday after the reenactor’s battle. Anyone willing to help with the School Day or interpretive stations or the scout battle is welcome to join us. Please note your availability for participation on the registration form or at Registration. In addition, scenarios downtown in the village are also planned, and individuals willing to participate should note on the registration. COME JOIN US FOR A GREAT WEEKEND IN HISTORIC ANGELICA, NY. Please read our guidelines and rules, and consider joining us. Necessary information and forms are below.
